Arnej

Over the past decade, many artists have made their way into the trance scene through variations of popular sounds that seem to fit the period. However, Canada’s best kept secret did not fit such a cliché characterization, and was ready and waiting to be unleashed to the masses. Arnej Secerkadic made his introduction to the industry in 2004 with an unparalleled & unique style under his ‘8 Wonders’ moniker. After releases such as ‘8th Wonder’ and ‘Sex on the Beach,’ Arnej had only just begun to establish himself as an artist of immense versatility and diversity.

The year 2008 proved to be a monumental year for Arnej with several releases on the distinguished labels Black Hole and Armada. ‘People Come, People Go,’ ‘The Ones That Get Away’ and ‘They Always Come Back’ shook the dance floors and were heavily supported by every A-listed DJ on the scene. Propelled to the spotlight rather quickly, Arnej continued his success with a vocal track namely “Strangers We’ve Become” with Josie & Jaren, which was featured on Armin van Buuren’s ‘A State Of Trance 2008’ compilation. On remix duties, Arnej has provided his own rendition for several famed producers including Sied van Riel, Dash Berlin, Leon Bolier, The Thrillseekers and Armin van Buuren. Grabbing the title of “Favourite Producer” by Armin, as well as “Best New Face of 2008” at the Trance Awards, this was only a taster of what Arnej was masterfully blazing.

In 2010, dance floors all around saw ‘They Need Us’ gather support from elite names such as Markus Schulz, Judge Jules and Gareth Emery. With intense, deep-rooted synth swirls inside a maze of strings, intricate vocal effects and the surroundings of melodrama, his latest smashing release ‘The Strings That Bind Us’ was to be featured once again on ‘A State of Trance 2010′ and illustrates his ability to construct the suspenseful & emotional sound he is known for. Arnej also provided his own rendition of ‘One Night In Ibiza’ by LTN alongside fellow remixer Myon & Shane54. Fulfilling his role as a heavily demanded DJ, Arnej became the first ‘Trance’ DJ to perform in Damascus, on June 24th 2010, this first step was ‘History Re-written’ and in turn it would swing open the doors for other DJ’s to make their mark for the first time in Syria.

With 2011 ahead, and an impressive foundation for productions, you can expect nothing but quality from Arnej. Standing on top of the trance charts, this Canadian producer never fails to deliver a new construction in sound with his thoughtful beats and tasteful melodies. Creating new sounds and worlds within them is part of his nature, his ground breaking talent takes the compositions to another level; leading this Armada Music artist to design some of the most acclaimed scene-settings tunes of EDM.
