Little needs to be said about Marshall Jefferson’s 1986 single ‘Move Your Body (The House-Music Anthem)’. Released on hugely influential Chicago house label Trax Records, the original version is a seminal record in the evolution of house as a genre and still remains vital today.
With a track as important as this, there are few people you would trust to approach it, fortunately Benny Benassi is one of them. His production credentials as an internationally revered producer speak for themselves and he handles the track with the respect it deserves, updating it brilliantly for today.
Staying true to the essence of the original, Benny Benassi re-invigorates it with a heightened production nous that remoulds it into an anthemic, expansive new track. Replacing the iconic piano melody with ecstatic synths and re-enforcing the drums with a redefined clarity, the track is reborn for 2012.
Frankfurt-based, Cadenza-affiliated producer Reboot provides his own spin on the classic track, delving into a trademark polyrhythmic workout. Keeping the original keys and dicing up the vocal, he remoulds them around a hypnotic, tribal-infused drum line that gives a nod to the jazz-inflections of the original.
