He has been away for a while, which doesn’t mean he has lost his mojo..! The Swedish sensation Carl Barrdahl aka Carl B has produced some of the most majestic and memorable anthems in the 2004-2008 era. Although he has tweaked his sound with more progressive undertones, but the soulful melodies still succeed in tug your heartstrings.
Carl B – Whatever Happens:
Aimed straight at the clubs, the thrashing rolling groove talks business straight away. Slick twinkling plucks act as a perfect teaser as the breakdown approaches. The scorching strings with flangers and rising arrangements leads us to the main hook, which is absolutely ginormous in proportion with the masterfully executed synthline. This packs ample amount of punch to qualify as a peaktime bigroom trancer..!
Carl B – In Control:
This one is definitely the dirtier mate of the first one. Carl takes a breather here with slowed down bpm and quite subtle harmonies serving the listener. The break slowly unfolds the mini synth section, while quickly turning its head towards the housy groove for a complete heads down carnage. More on the proghouse side of the things, but it doesn’t shy away from unraveling sparkling melodies in its due course.
Whatever happens, you are bound to be enticed by Whatever Happens. Very diverse and different productions from Carl’s past gems, but let the sweeping chords and glorious themes resonate gently while you find the inner peace.
