It’s new year again, and it’s time to remember one of the most respected trance acts of all time: York. Torsten Michael Stenzel and Jörg Stenzel just blazed into the scene and paved their way to unravel the signature Balearic trance sound in the 90s. Fellow German trance veteran Pedro Del Mar, updates the original and provides a glorious trance cut exclusively for his new Mellomania compilation.
Reachers of Civilization (Original Mix):
This was the track that opened the legendary ‘In Search of Sunrise’ compilation’s first cd. Handpicked by Tiesto, it was hard to not get mesmerized by the everlasting beauty of this track. The atmospheric start with those magical words spoken about human species and the glistening guitar line, takes you back to the glorious years of music. The straightforward oldskool bassline with a hypnotic lead, brings ample exuberance, keeps you gyrating till the fabulous finish.
Reachers of Civilization (Pedro Del Mar Remix):
Roger Shah’s brother Pedro gives it much needed full-on Balearic treatment, much in the vein of Sunlounger’s ravishing melodic gems. This is more of a rework of Rank1’s remix way back in ‘99. But with the added piano line in the break and rich, harmonious synths; it sounds monstrously massive.! The melody is one of the best you’ll hear anytime soon, just left me gasping for more, when combined with that phat kickdrum! Gorgeously crafted piece here, just when you need a subliminal sensation, to reach complete nirvana. ;)
Pedro Del Mar’s remix does justice to this huge choon from the past. Have a listen, and lose yourself into its succulent soundscapes..!
