Gypsy – I Trance You, gets a 2010 re rub from Ministry Of Sound Resident Richard Murray & Dodge.
Original Mix: A properly constructed house groove is added alongside wonderful vocal snippets arranged to emphasize the original vocal of “I will trance you.” The percussion is great, featuring a short hat and a perfectly created clap. The piano during the breakdown has such a unique and cool sound to it that it’s a shame it stops after the cut. The kick works back into the track with the vocals continuing to pierce your ears. The reverb on the vocals is also exceptionally nice. A well done re rub & a suggested listen.
Delta Kids Mix: A bit on the minimal side regarding percussion, and the bassline is modified to give the track a different feel entirely. The vocals show their face periodically to remind you of the original track. This mix also features the piano work (as I would assert that it would be hard to remake this aspect without detracting from the integrity) and has a few ambient hints in background. The culmination of all the elements is wonderful and is put together just around three and half minutes.
David Bernardi Mix: Adding a clean piano that fits very nicely in the house genre, this track does exactly what I said would be hard to do in the previous track. The vocals are introduced just shortly after, and the piano is filtered in alongside chimes and subtle yet effective percussion. The accent on the clap that gives it a “swoop” on the 2nd & 4th kick is a great addition as well. A perfect addition to the remix list.
Re-Zone & Zmey Remix: Immediately you can feel this one starting to build. The crisp percussion and unique double-claps at the end of each bar start you off just before introducing a loop that is similar to the original. As soon as the pianos hit the scene, I can immediately tell this is my favorite among the remixes. The bassline & vocal chops are fantastic, and work immensely well with the feel of the track. So many effects are packed into this mix that it’s hard to keep track with what has been repeated and what is a new addition. Masterfully done, and I highly suggest checking this track out.
