If April showers bring may flowers then “Form and Funktion” is a musical monsoon. Chicago based DJ and producer YOGI brings you his brand new release entitled “Form and Funktion” released March 27th, 2013 on Lotus Music Group.

The combination of old school beats with modern sounds will leave your brain buzzing with nostalgia. This big room progressive house beast is ready to destroy dance floors everywhere. The track premiered on the Official WMC sampler CD at the Winter Music Conference this past March in Miami Florida. A copy of the sampler was provided in the gift bag to all attendee’s.

When asked what the initial inspiration was for creating the track “Form and Funktion” YOGI responded “Last year at the Spring Awakening Festival I was blown away by the sound quality of their F1 Dance Stack. The sounds were crisp and the bass was phenomenal. Months later I was working on a new track and I stumbled across a function sample that fit perfectly, especially since Funktion-One is synonymous with EDM culture.

The tech house remix has a relentless groove that soothes and stimulates even the most resistant critics. The tech-house remix is perfect at the peak of a driving tech-house set, but don’t take our word for it, check it out. Streaming links are provided below. YOGI’s take on the production of the Tech-House Mix: “I have always been a huge Carl Cox fan, so when I heard that Carl Cox was coming to play in Chicago at The Mid (a F1 equipped Club), I was inspired to create a tech infused banger that Carl might play, hopeful that he would drop it during his residency at the legendary, Funktion-One equipped, Space in Ibiza (consistently rated as one of the best sound systems in the world).”

Stay tuned to Funktion-One’s social networks as they will be hosting the track on their page shortly concurrent with the Form and Funktion’s upcoming worldwide launch.

American DJ & producer Topher Jones is bringing dance music-lovers together with his newest single ‘Save Me,’ an uplifting ode to those in their darkest times, out April 8th on Ultra Records.

The follow-up to his November hit ‘Hello Chicago’–a Windy City anthem that could be heard anywhere from Chicago Bulls games to sets from top DJs like Gareth Emery, Ferry Corsten, and Michael Woods–’Save Me’ will be Topher’s 6th single on Ultra Records. Topher’s releases continue to put Chicago house back on the map, with his latest production finding him partnering once again with Chicago-bred singer/songwriter James Bowers, the vocalist on Topher’s single ‘Lost It All.’

“When I first played this track live, the entire crowd was singing along and throwing their hands in the air by the second drop.” Topher said. “That’s when I knew this record would be something special.”

‘Save Me’ provides the perfect combination between a massive house drop and unforgettable lyrics. Bestowing angelic string breakdowns, beautiful vocals, and an almighty crescendo, the track will take any club or festival to another plane of existence. Listen closely and you’ll hear hints of Topher’s signature heavy bassline, bringing you back to earth and ready to destroy the dancefloor.

Topher will continue his showcase across North America in the coming months, with a massive tour that includes the Indy 500 Snake Pit with Afrojack and Diplo and the Spring Awakening Festival in Chicago. For more tour dates visit www.facebook.com/topherjonesmusic.

Put on your swimsuit and don’t forget the sunscreen. Highly acclaimed producer and record label owner Gareth Emery is about to transport you to a place of sunshine, sandy beaches and beautiful people with his first release of 2013, ‘Meet Her In Miami,’ out now on Garuda Music.

Following his two hit singles ‘Tokyo’ and ‘The Saga’–both of which landed in the top 10 on Beatport’s main chart–Emery is back with another surefire chart-topper just in time for Miami Music Week.

Through a change in tempo and progressive builds, Emery has produced a modernized tribute to the beloved 1997 dance hit ‘Meet Her at the Love Parade,’ by Da Hool. A track suitable for pool parties, nightclubs and massive music festivals, ‘Meet Her In Miami’ brings the warmth, beauty and Latin flavor of the sunny Florida city to life. Its playful synth and distinct percussive elements stay true to the tribal groove of the original, while Emery puts his own stamp on the track through attention-grabbing breakdowns and immaculate transitions.

With Winter Music Conference and all the events that coincide just around the corner, ‘Meet Her In Miami’ is guaranteed to keep bodies moving over the next several months and will surely become the city’s unofficial anthem.
